The Italian has started ever match of the new campaign. His new contract is not believed to contain any release clause.

The 26-year-old France under-21 international completed his switch to the King Power Stadium just as the summer transfer window closed.

Wolves sign Ajax winger Forbs on loan
Wolves have completed their final summer transfer deal with winger Carlos Forbs joining from Ajax on an initial season-long loan.
The 21-year-old Portuguese winger has moved to Molineux in a deal that includes an option to buy for £11.5million next summer.
That option will turn into an obligation to buy if he makes a certain number of appearances, believed to be in double figures but still relatively low.
Forbs learned his trade in the Manchester City academy alongside Wolves midfielder Tommy Doyle and joined Ajax a year ago.
Wolves sporting director Matt Hobbs said: “Carlos was one we wanted to do last summer, and then Ajax made a great offer for him, and he got a great move to a huge club, and now we get the opportunity to bring him in.
“So, maybe it's just a year delayed. This is probably where the window dragging out and the player being available at the end has helped us get a deal over line.
“You can see how a lot of the boys have come out of Man City, we've got a great example in Tommy, and done really well at big clubs.
For us to get a player that we wanted last summer, and now with a year’s experience in the top league, at a big, big football club, it's probably even more exciting than even last summer.
“He’s quick and wants to run in behind. He’s technically good, with the education he had, but he’s really direct, good one versus one, will look to stretch teams and with that pace will give us something we probably haven't got.”

Palace sign Turner on loan from Forest
Forest goalkeeper Matt Turner has completed a season-long loan move to Crystal Palace.
The USMNT international, 30, joined Nottingham Forest from Arsenal last summer.
Turner has made 21 appearances for Forest, but found himself down the pecking order following an up and down first season with the club.
Forest signed Belgium international Matz Sels in January, as the new number one. While they also added Carlos Miguel from Corinthians this summer.
But Palace were in need of another keeper option after selling Sam Johnstone, who had been on Forest’s shortlist of targets, to Wolves.
Cornet joins Southampton on loan from West Ham
Maxwel Cornet has joined Southampton on loan from West Ham United.
The 27-year-old forward joined West Ham from Burnley in 2022 and has made 37 appearances for the east London club since then. He was part of the squad that won the Europa Conference League under David Moyes in 2023.
Saints boss Russell Martin said: “Maxwel is a very dynamic player and he gives us another exciting dimension to the group.
“He’s someone who can be a real threat to the opposition on the pitch and I’m delighted the ownership group and board have been able to get another attacking option in for us.
“He’s really excited to be coming here and I think it’s a move that can bring out the best in him and work really well for both him and us.”
Cornet came through the youth ranks at French club Metz and subsequently played six seasons for Lyon, making more than 250 appearances for the side.
He has 31 caps for Ivory Coast having previously represented France up to under-21 level.
Stansfield joins Birmingham for League One record fee
Fulham's Jay Stansfield has joined Birmingham City for a League One record fee.
Two separate sources close to the deal say Birmingham City will pay a guaranteed £15million with £5m in add-ons after having a £10m offer turned down earlier on Friday.
Those parties also suggest Fulham retain a 20 per cent sell-on clause as part of the agreement and will earn a further £100,000 if Birmingham are promoted this season. Birmingham contest that those figures are correct.
Prior to tonight, Will Grigg's 2022 move from Wigan to Sunderland for £3.4m was the biggest transfer in League One history.
Stansfield has signed a seven-year contract at St Andrew's through to 2031.
The transfer was contingent on Fulham securing an attacking player and despite a deal for Lyon's Ernest Nuamah collapsing, the west London club are poised to sign Reiss Nelson on loan from Arsenal.
Stansfield spent last season on loan at St Andrew's and impressed, scoring 13 goals in 37 appearances for the Blues. He also completed a clean sweep of the men's post-season awards.
The Midlands club, who are part-owned by former NFL quarterback Tom Brady, have spent over £30m in the summer window.

Carlos Soler has signed for West Ham United from Paris Saint-Germain on a season-long loan.
The 27-year-old becomes the Premier League club’s ninth summer signing.
“I am really excited to be here as a West Ham player,” said Soler.
“It has always been a dream of mine to play in the Premier League, and to be doing it in London with a club like West Ham is an incredible feeling.
“I can’t wait to feel the support of the fans, who I have already heard so much about from conversations with people who know the club, like my good friend Pablo Fornals.
“I am excited about meeting my new team-mates and giving my all for this Club in the best league in the world.”

Liverpool's Gordon joins Norwich on loan
Liverpool have confirmed that Kaide Gordon completed his loan move to Championship outfit Norwich City ahead of the deadline.
Head coach Arne Slot was keen for the talented 19-year-old winger to get more senior experience under his belt this season.
Gordon, who joined Liverpool from Derby County for a fee potentially rising to £3.4million in February 2021, made an impressive breakthrough at Anfield under Jurgen Klopp in 2021-22.
However, injury wrecked the following season for him and he only played three times for Liverpool in all competitions in 2023-24 as he predominantly featured for the club's under-21s side.
San Diego to sign Mighten from Nottingham Forest
Alex Mighten’s 14-year stay at Nottingham Forest has ended, with the winger joining San Diego in MLS.
The 22-year-old joined the Forest academy in 2010 and made his first team debut in 2019.
There was a period when he was regarded as being as bright a prospect as fellow academy graduate Brennan Johnson, who joined Tottenham in a £47.5million move last summer.
But Mighten has struggled to pin down regular first team opportunities at Forest, making 18 starts and 38 sub appearances in the league over the last five years, while scoring four goals.
He has previously had loan spells at Sheffield Wednesday, Kortrijk and Port Vale.
Edozie set to stay at Southampton after failing to complete Rangers loan
Samuel Edozie is expected to stay at Southampton having failed to complete a deal to join Rangers on a season-long loan.
Edozie had attracted interest from several Championship sides and other teams in the U.K. in the last 24 hours who have been notified over his availability, but it was Rangers who agreed terms with Southampton. However, an agreement could not be finalised with the player and facing the 11pm deadline.
Southampton signed Ryan Fraser and needed to make room in their squad, with Kamaldeen Sulemana set to stay beyond the deadline. Edozie was made available to leave on loan came on as a second-half substitute in Southampton's 1-0 defeat against Nottingham Forest at the weekend.
